Van Dermyden Makus Law Corporation is dedicated to conducting workplace and Title IX campus investigations in California. We are seeking a dynamic full-time IT Specialist for the Sacramento office. Although this position is based in Sacramento, the IT Specialist will be responsible for helping and working with attorneys and professional staff throughout the Firm. Key Responsibilities include:
Order new hire laptops, accessories, software, desktop phones, and cell phones; order replacements of same for current employees, as needed
Troubleshoot and resolve IT problems for employees, as they arise
Train employees on current and new software and platforms
Analyze IT problems both as they arise and overall, to spot and address common issues
First point of contact for outside IT vendors
In collaboration with outside IT vendors, maintain server room equipment
Scrub thumb drives of data as they are returned by attorneys and case editors
Maintain the Firm’s Slack account, add/remove employees and create/update channels as requested
Create user groups in Outlook and set up calendar permissions, as requested
Set up employee office extensions within Mitel Connect Director and train new employees on the Mitel Connect App
Inventory firm equipment and keep track of changes. Notify Chief Operating Officer when employee equipment is approaching or past normal lifespan.
Order new licenses (e.g., VPN, Worldox, Adobe Pro, Trumpet OCR, etc.) and renew, as needed
Manage e-waste and disposal of old or broken equipment
Work with Recruiting Coordinator and HR Specialist to order new hire equipment
Work with outside IT vendors to set-up new hire equipment
Develop and maintain hoteling spaces in the Sacramento Office
Proactively check in with employees, to make sure they have the necessary equipment to work in the office or remotely, including monitors, webcams, ring lights, etc.
Maintain conference room equipment in both the Sacramento and San Rafael offices; troubleshoot when necessary
When needed, travel to the Firm’s San Rafael office to assist employees with IT issues
Keep a pulse on new and changing hardware, software and platforms, and make recommendations to the Executive Committee
Meet with the Chief Operating Officer on a regular basis, to discuss IT related issues, projects and initiatives
Other projects, as assigned
Requirements:
At least five years of experience in a similar role or applicable experience in IT, required
Microsoft Office Specialist Certifications (MOS) in Word and Outlook and certified professional certificates, strongly preferred
High attention to detail and accuracy
Demonstrate advanced knowledge and support of software and hardware environments, operating system environments and equipment platforms
Strong listening and communication skills
Must be able to maximize time and effort in addressing position responsibilities, as well as quick adaptation to changes in priorities
Positive, professional and approachable attitude and demeanor
Common sense, flexibility and the ability to work individually and as part of a team
Exceptional attendance
This is a full-time hybrid, non-exempt position, with the ability to work both in the office and at home. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Compensation will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits provided including medical, dental, vision, LTD, and 401(k) with employer contribution.
