Winnie Vien is an Attorney Investigator with Van Dermyden Makus Law Corporation. Her practice focuses on conducting independent workplace investigations involving complex and sensitive matters, including allegations of misconduct and harassment.

Winnie has handled numerous investigations involving allegations of harassment, discrimination, bullying, and other complex workplace issues. She has conducted investigations in both union and non-union settings. She ensures that each investigation is prompt, impartial, and thorough while being flexible to the needs of each case.
Prior to joining Van Dermyden Makus, Winnie worked at a labor law firm, where she represented workers and unions in various labor and employment matters, focusing on wage and hour class actions. Winnie also conducted discrimination and harassment trainings, drafted employee handbooks, and advised on leave and accommodation issues. Winnie’s experience representing both employees and unions as employers provides her with a unique understanding of the importance of fair investigations in the workplace.
Winnie earned her Juris Doctor from the New York University School of Law, where she was a Root-Tilden-Kern Public Interest Scholar and Senior Articles Editor on the Review of Law and Social Change. She received her undergraduate degree from Swarthmore College, with a major in sociology/anthropology and minors in Spanish and Chinese. Winnie speaks Cantonese fluently.
In her spare time, Winnie loves trying out new restaurants and coffee shops with friends and family.
