Tomorrow Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will become the first woman in history to lie in state in the US Capitol when her casket is placed in National Statuary Hall. Another first for a legend who paved the way for an entire generation of women to pursue careers as attorneys. That includes us – two female owners of a thriving law firm.

Sacramento—Sept. 16—Sue Ann Van Dermyden, a national leader in conducting independent investigations into allegations of sexual assault and harassment in sports and the workplace, today called on the National Football League and New England Patriots to move to conduct a “thorough, impartial, third-party” probe into rape allegations against star NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown.

Sue Ann Van Dermyden and Deborah Maddux were selected as 2019 Super Lawyers for their work in Employment & Labor Law. Justin Kochan investigated allegations made against Manendo. Kochan found that Manendo had engaged in at least 14 incidents of inappropriate conduct during the 2017 session, along with instances of misconduct from prior sessions. Manendo offered his resignation on July 18, 2017.

The move is part of a commitment to change the culture at the Capitol.
