Lexi Weyrick

Attorney Investigator and Adjudicator, AWI-CH

Lexi is an Attorney Investigator and Adjudicator with Van Dermyden Makus Law Corporation.  She has been with the Firm since 2021, when she joined as a Law Clerk in her final year of law school.  Lexi regularly conducts workplace and campus investigations and trains professionals on best practices for Title IX investigations.

Lexi is an experienced investigator in public and private higher education and K-12 Title IX sexual misconduct claims.  She is trained in Trauma Informed practices and understands the complexity of sexual misconduct allegations for schools, parties, and others impacted.  Lexi is also experienced in investigating discrimination and harassment claims, in both school and workplace settings.  She also serves as a Hearing Officer, Decision-Maker, and Appeal Officer in Title IX cases.  Lexi has experience in complex cases involving minors, multiple complainants and respondents, and cross-complaints.

Lexi also conducts Title IX trainings as a faculty member of T9 Mastered.  She provides expert insight into the fast-evolving landscape of the federal regulations, as well as best practices for conducting Title IX investigations, both in higher education and K-12.  Lexi has almost a decade of experience in Title IX, including analyzing policy, case law, and federal guidance and regulations.

Lexi graduated cum laude from Boston University School of Law, where she successfully completed the voluntary Pro Bono Pledge requirements.  She was an Executive Editor for the Public Interest Law Journal.  During her final two years of law school, Lexi served as a Legal Assistant for Greater Boston Legal Services and through the Access to Justice Civil Litigation Clinic as a Massachusetts SJC Rule 3:03 Student Practitioner.  She also studied Title IX case law and policy as a research assistant under Professor Naomi Mann.

Lexi earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2015, where she worked on consent education in the Associated Students Office of the External Vice President of Statewide Affairs, and served on the Chancellor’s Task Force on Sexual Violence.  She was also an intern in the Office of the Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, D.C.
